The Beatles 2009 Remasters

The Beatles in Stereo Remastered Box Set

The Beatles studio albums were originally remastered digitally and released on CD in the 1980s at that time mastering for CD was a new art and since the 80s a lot has been learned about how to do it best but most important is all of the many technological advances during that time.

The many advances in digital technology and all of the know how learned of how to most effectively remaster digitally have been put to very good use with the remastered Beatles releases of 2009. On September 9, 2009 The Beatles released both The Beatles Remastered Stereo Box Set and The Beatles Mono Box Set. And both box sets sound absolutely fantastic. If you’ve yet to hear ‘em, I recommend you get your hands on The Beatles remasters as soon as you can.

Which flavor of Beatles remastered should a fan get? Well for me the answer was simply “all of them” but if you can only have you will probably want to go with the stereo box set because it contains all 13 of their UK studio albums and most casual fans will want to listen to the stereo versions more than the mono.

The Beatles Mono Box Set
is more for hardcore fans who want to hear all of the differences between the mono and stereo mixes (and sometimes they are really quite different) and for those who want to hear the Fab Four how they originally heard them (this, of course, applies to older fans who were around for The Beatles in the flesh in the 1960s.)

I believe these Beatles remasters are great to hear for those who record music at home, it’s a good idea to listen to the sound of the greatest band of all time when you’re recording music.

For music recording hobbyists, I definitely recommend reading this home recording blog.
