Because of the recession the items that people are buying this year have actually changed a hell of a lot. This is down to two things really and one simply because money is short this year and the other is because a lot of the kids have everything they wanted already.
The best thing to do is sit down and think about it. All of the boys toys like the computer consoles such as the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii have been out for almost a good 5 years now which means that most of the people that are after these kinds of things have in fact already got them.
Okay so your girl may want something like a new Barbie or the new Go Go Hamster that has for some reason pushed itself as the number one toy this Christmas. What are parents really looking to get their children this year?
Well believe it or not in most cases technology is out this year and parents are looking for more traditional toys like the 8ft trampoline to give to their kids this year.
Although the trampoline is not very cheap it does get children to get a bit of excercise which is of course is really good for most of the kids nowadays as they are never getting it.
There are other gifts parents are looking into getting like playset.
Child obesity has hit an old time high which is why it is important to try and keep this down and it is something you can do for your own children. If there were more parents out there that actually went out and started to get things like this over consoles then it would be fair to say that obesity would fall.
However is this really what we want for all of our kids, do we just want them excercising all of the time or do we want them to do what they want to do. It is really put to you as a parent to make the decision.
